To create a bond of love between a brother and a sister, Raksha Bandhan was celebrated with great ardour and gaiety at Police DAV Public School Patiala in which Harmeen Kaur of class eighth shared a speech to mark the significance of the day .She told that it is celebrated every year in the month of Shravan on a Poornima as per Hindu calendar .On this day brother promises to protect his sisters and sisters of all ages ties beautiful Rakhis on brothers’ wrist .lt is a festival of promise between a brother and sister of their life long loving bond. .A video related to this festival was shown to the students. Students from third to tenth participated in Rakhi making competition with great enthusiasm .They used their creativity and ingenuity to create dazzling rakhis. Everyone was surprised to see the creativity of the students. Amrit, Diljit and Simrat of Primary classes got first position. Gunvansh of class 6,Mehar of class 7 ,Tejvir Kaur of class 8and Reena of class 10 bagged first position. Students got certificates for their wonderful performance .School Principal Ms.Meena Thapar congratulated the winners and inspired them to always cherish this bond of love with their siblings
