POLICE DAV PUBLIC SCHOOL PATIALA CELEBRATED BAISHAKHI IN FULL FERVOUR

Police DAV Public School Dadhera Patiala celebrated Baisakhi and Birth Anniversary of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar. Police DAV Public School Dadhera celebrated Baisakhi with great zeal and zest. On this occasion, the students from Nursery to Second class were dressed in beautiful Punjabi attire and performed dances on Punjabi tunes. A special assembly was also organised by the school in which the speech was delivered by Sahibdeep Singh of XI A1 class He elaborated that the festival Baisakhi symbolises the beginning of the harvest season, a celebration of the fruits of the farmers’ toil and a thanksgiving for a bountiful harvest.  For the Sikhs, it also marks the founding of the Khalsa Panth by Guru Gobind Singh. A tribute was also paid to the martyrs of Jallianwala Bagh Massacre, incident on April 13, 1919, in which British troops fired on a large crowd of unarmed Indians in an open space known as the Jallianwala Bagh in Amritsar in the Punjab, killing several hundred people and wounding many hundreds more.In the assembly some General questions were also asked about the celebration of Baisakhi and also about the contribution of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar in various aspects of the Constitution, his insightful, well-reasoned and scrupulously research to mark his Birth Anniversary on 14 April . These questions were answered by other students enthusiastically.School Principal Mrs. Savita Dhankhar addressed the students and apprised them about the customs and rituals of the festival and conveyed best wishes to all. She also appreciated the efforts of students and their mentors of Pansy house to make the occasion remarkable.
