26 January is an important day in the history of India, the day when it became a Republic. This day is celebrated throughout the nation as Republic Day. Keeping this in mind, the day was celebrated by Police DAV Public School Patiala, with great enthusiasm.
A special assembly was organised by the Tulip House for students of classes Nursery to 12. Students were excited to be a part of it. The anchor for the day was Samreet Kaur of class 9. The national flag was hoisted by the Principal.
Prabhnoor Kaur of class 5 and Pratiksha of class 9 delivered speeches and recited patriotic poems to add to the zeal. A patriotic song was also presented by the Music department which mesmerized everyone. Students of pre-primary wing also presented a song that lifted the ambiance of the school . The students of dance department presented a dance increasing the patriotic feel.
Students participated in different activities such as Tricolour Dish Making, Art & Craft,etc and displayed their creative side. A presentation was also shown to them and were motivated to watch the Republic day parade on TV sets. The gathering was addressed by the new Principal, Savita Devi.
